Strategic analysis of promoting entrepreneurship among students of Ilam University

Abstract

. Purpose of this research was strategic analysis of promoting entrepreneurship among students of Ilam University. The studied population was faculty members, staff and entrepreneurship students at Ilam University, and 19 of these people were studied using the purposeful snowball sampling method. The data collection tool was in-depth and semi-structured interviews. In this research, SWOT technique and directed content analysis method have been applied to identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats. To check the reliability of the findings, the analyses obtained from the data of notes, documents and interviews were provided to the participants in the research to confirm the alignment between the raw data and the results. The results show that "the existence of curricular units with the title of entrepreneurship and internship units in some fields" is the most important strength, "the weakness of investment in the field of promoting and teaching entrepreneurship and its infrastructure", the most important weakness is "the existence of an active border with Iraq for Export and import" is the most important opportunity and "insufficient funding by the government for the development of entrepreneurial activities of academics" is the most important threat .Inviting entrepreneurs of each discipline as an educational approach and establishing communication between students and market activists of each of the academic disciplines in Ilam University and reforming the university's reward system and giving points to entrepreneurial activities in improving and transforming the status of academic staff members are among the suggestions of this research.
